Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan today took a stock of the ongoing process.
Principal Secretary (Transport) S K Sharma told PTI that more than 50 per cent of the modernisation work at the 22 check-posts was complete. "Our endeavour is to make the check-posts customer- friendly and ensure hassle-free passage," he said.
The Chief Minister stressed the need for co-ordination between sales tax, excise and transport departments, sources said.
