Opposition members used nursery rhyme "Johnny Johnny... Yes Papa" to protest against Pankaja Munde who is facing allegations of Rs 206 cr procurement scam for Anganwadi workers
Mumbai: The Monsoon Session of Maharashtra Legislature got off to a noisy start here today, with opposition members flaying the BJP-led government over "apathy" on loan waiver for farmers.

The opposition members, led by Leaders of Opposition in both Houses -- Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil and Dhananjay Munde -- shouted slogans against the government at the entrance of Vidhan Bhawan as soon as CM Devendra Fadnavis reached there.
"How many more sacrifices of farmers do you need ?" read one of the many banners which the opposition legislators carried.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar was also among the opposition legislators who staged a protest at the entrance of the building.
The members also used nursery rhyme "Johnny Johnny... Yes Papa" to protest against Women and Child Welfare Minister Pankaja Munde who is facing allegations of Rs 206 crore procurement scam for Anganwadi workers.
Vinod Tawde, who is under attack over his educational qualification and procurement of fire extinguishers for schools without e-tendering, also faced the ire.
Shashikant Shinde (NCP) led the protest by shouting slogans like "Pankaja Pankaja...Yes Papa...Eating Chikki... Yes Papa", "Vinod Vinod...Bogus Degree...Yes Papa" and "Lonikar Lonikar...Do Baika (two wives)...Haha Ha" Congress had alleged that Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Babanrao Lonikar has two wives but documents submitted to the Election Commission contain no such information. Lonikar is accused to have concealed information pertaining to his second wife in all his election affidavits.
Yesterday, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had rejected the demand for loan waiver, saying that the decision of waiving loan in 2008 had not benefitted the farmers.
"Instead We want to empower the farmers and invest in agriculture development," he had said, adding that the loan waiver had only benefited the banks headed by Congress-NCP leaders.
Meanwhile, erstwhile allies Congress and NCP have decided to get together to corner the BJP-led government and have been holding joint strategy meetings for the last few days.
