In its first sale in 10 years, a high-end furniture store is offering its signature rattan vine items and accessories at discounts of up to 50 per cent
Just ahead of its 10th anniversary celebrations, Abaca India, a furniture store that specialises in items made from rattan vine, a kind of palm common in South East Asia, is offering a gala monsoon sale. Here, all items will come at discounts ranging from 10 to 50 per cent, until stocks last.
Rattan, which is often used in martial arts equipment because of its durability and resistance to splintering, also works well for easy furniture. The store spread over 8,500 sq feet, handcrafts these products.
According to Manager and Interior Designer of Abaca India Mohammed Bagasrawala, "This is the first time we are holding a sale. The display of the store will be changed, and only items that are on sale will be showcased," he explains, adding, "We will get a new collection by September."
The products on sale include both, furniture and accessories. "Our outdoor furniture is made of synthetic UV polypeel, which has a water-resistant fabric and is rust free and non-corrosive. Our indoor items are made from rattan. It's a superior kind of cane that allows you to mould and twist it the way you want," he says.
