The police have arrested a 22-year-old man for allegedly molesting a nine-year-old girl in Hadapsar on Tuesday.
Identified as Sunil Arjun Mote, the police said the accused was a neighbour of the victim.
The police arrested Mote after the grandmother of the minor victim lodged a complaint at the Hadapsar police station.
Mote has been charged with Section 354 (molestation) of the Indian Penal Code.
Victim was asleep
According to the complaint filed at the police station, the victim was sleeping at her home with her
grandmother on Tuesday night when Mote committed the crime.
The complaint stated that the accused managed to gain entry into the house and molested the girl.
Assistant Police Inspector Chavan from the Hadapsar police station is investigating the case.u00a0
