A verbal brawl between two brothers took a drastic turn after the elder one allegedly killed the younger for back answering. The incident took place late on Monday night near the Chinchwad Link Road. The Chinchwad police said the elder of the two Valmiki brothers named Manjeet (22) questioned his younger brother Sanjeet (20) after the latter returned late, that too in an inebriated condition.
Sanjeet retorted that he could return home whenever he felt like. This resulted in a dispute and in a fit of rage Manjeet allegedly hit Sanjeet with a wooden baton. Kalicharan Valmiki the father of the two was present at home, and was having a dinner when the incident occurred.
Assistant Police Inspector Maruti Mohite, said: "We shifted Sanjeet to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. We have arrestedu00a0 Manjeet." Manjeet was produced in the court and was remanded in police custody until March 25.
