A 23-year-old man was shot dead by his own cousin brothers in the Bisrakh area of Greater Noida Tuesday morning over sharing of bricks, police said.

Rahul Singh, a resident of Sadullapur locality, was shot dead by his cousin brothers - Hari Singh and Om Singh - over a minor dispute at around 11 a.m.

According to Deepak Sharma, Station Officer - Bisrakh, the two sides got into a tussle over the distribution of bricks that were excavated while laying down sewer lines outside their house, situated next to each other.

Both the sides were taking bricks into their houses when an argument broke out over ownership of the bricks. The argument became heated and Hari and Om, both brothers, took out a rifle and shot Rahul in the neck.

Rahul died on the spot. An FIR was registered against five members of the family, including Hari and Om, at Bisrakh. The two men were taken into custody.

"We are making efforts to arrest the remaining members who are absconding. The accused side have a criminal history and have indulged in many incidents in the past," the station officer said.

Rahul Singh got married in February.
