The incident occurred at 10:30 pm when five people assaulted Mohammad Anis alias Pappu, who works with a private firm in Okhla Industrial area. The assailants first beat up Anis and then shot him.
The bullet hit Anis on his hand and he was rushed to a nearby hospital by the passerby. Anis' family told MiD DAY that there is an ongoing property dispute between the victim and his uncle Akmal. They apprehended that Akmal might have hired the goons to attack his nephew.
The police have lodged an FIR against two accused Kamran and Atiq and three unidentified people.
