The duo had come to receive weapons for a training camp, supposedly to be held in Myanmar
The Special Cell of Delhi Police arrested two Maoist guerrillas of the banned militant outfit, People Liberation Party (PPL), while they were about to receive arms from their associates, on Wednesday.u00a0 The duo was identified as Arun and Dalip. Police also recovered some important documents and a laptop containing data about their hideout from their possession.u00a0

"The recovered documents reveal that PPL had planned to organise a training camp for militants in Myanmar. The duo had come to receive arms for the camp," said a police official close to the investigation. The special cell had a tip-off that two members of the banned outfit will come to Lodhi Colony area of south Delhi to receive an assignment of arms. A team of special police officials were roped in to nab the duo. Police conducted the raid and arrested the duo. No arms were, however, recovered from their possession.
"They were produced before a city court, which has remanded them to 10-day police custody," said a police official. He said the laptop has data that suggests that the Maoists are thriving in northern India. According to the official, it was shocking to find that Naxalites and Maoists were now joining hands to help each other, and a few terrorist organisations from across the border were also helping them.
"The duo had to supply the weapons in Ranchi. They told that preparations were being done to arrange for the Myanmar training camp, in which they would teach about new technology to their associates. The duo has a travel agency as well. Police are suspecting that they use the travel agency to deliver weapons to their associates," said the police official.
