Syed Anwar and Aktharunnissa, Nageena's parents, allege that her in laws had been torturing her for dowry since she was married.u00a0 "The husband and the in-laws used to beat her and send her to us for dowry.
I have given them around Rs 1 lakh," said Anwar.
Even her relatives claim that Sadiq, who is a cloth merchant by profession, used to demand money every now and then.
"She was beaten up and thrown out of the house on Wednesday night. She spent the whole night outside her husband's house and then came to us with her three-month-old child early morning yesterday.

I took her back in the afternoon and spoke to her inlaws and requested not to harass her and came back. When our son went to check in the evening, we came to know she was found hanging, and no one was present at the house," he added.
The parents allege that they strangled her first and then hung her to the ceiling. "We put her in a vehicle and took her to the hospital, but on the way we realised she was dead, so we brought back her body," said Syed Nazir,u00a0 Nageena's uncle.
A complaint has been filed at the Mico Layout police station and an investigation is on.
