While Baig was arrested in the city, his alleged aide Shaikh Lalbaba Mohammed Hussain alias Bilal was caught at Subash Chandra Bose Marg in Nashik.
Investigative officer ACP Vinod Satav produced Baig before JMFC S S Bose.Public prosecutor A V Ausekar argued before the court that Baig had confessed to having hatched the plot along with Mohsin Chaudhari and Ahmed Siddibappa alias Yasin Bhatkal, so thorough investigation was needed to trace the two accomplices of his.
Advocate Ausekar said Baig's custody was also needed to find out from where he had procured the explosives used in the blast. He said considering the nature of the offense, the suspect's custody was needed to find whether his accomplices were working in other states.
The court upheld the public prosecutor's arguments and remanded Baig in police custody.
