A source from the management said that the club had decided to install a biometric system to establish the identity of its members. It will be the only one in the city to do so.
"Once the system is installed, the members will have to prove their identity at the entry point itself, before they can avail of any facility," the source said. "A lot of people who come with references and as 'guests' of our members were seen misusing the club amenities. So, we decided to go for the biometric system. Guests of our members can come to our club, but the member himself will have to accompany them. That will bring in more accountability while utilising club amenities."
The club has the elite of the city as its members and the management fears that subjecting them to scrutiny might evoke strong reaction.
"Most of us don't like inspection and subjecting ourselves to any kind of scrutiny. Physically stopping our members and asking them to use the biometric system will be a difficult task for our staff. It might be offensive to the clients, but we will be requesting them to cooperate with us. It will help us improve our service and increase the member base too," the source said.
