MiD DAY campaign sees 492 errant drivers booked in May, much more than pre-drive RTO average of 150 in a month
On the second last day of the autorickshaw campaign, the MiD DAY team along with the traffic police booked 22 drivers who refused to ferry commuters.
In its month-long campaign against fare refusal and overcharging, MiD DAY helped book 492 errant autorickshaw drivers. Before the drive, the RTO used to book 120 to 150 drivers a month.
During the campaign, the MiD DAY team found Viman Nagar, Karve Road, Paud Road, Pune Station, Aundh, Pashan, Bund Garden Road, M G Road and Kalyani Nagar to be the problem areas in the city when it came to autos.
The number of members of MiD DAY's community 'Fight Against The Rude Rickshaw walas' on Facebook has grown to 582 now.
