It made matters worse when Afrooz couldn't be reached on his cell phone either.

Ahmed said, "He always came home on time. He doesn't even have friends to go out with."
Straight home
He added, "He only goes to work at his store and to the mosque. He was supposed to meet my younger brother but he didn't even call."
However, at 1:30 am after spending 15 minutes at the Hebbal police station, the worried father answered a frantic phone call from his son saying he had returned home after almost being attacked.u00a0
Afrooz Ahmed (25), the owner of A M K collections, said, "I was coming from Majestic and two guys on a bike started following me. One had a huge knife. The only thing they yelled at me was 'maar'."
He added, "When I tried to escape, I ended up in Yeshwantpur and didn't know the roads and my phone's battery died."
Afrooz added, "I don't know why anyone would want to hurt me. I don't even have friends."
Sardar added, "I am so relieved I have my son back. I lost one son last year in an accident. Allah has sent him back to us."
u00a0Ramakrishnaiah Head Constable at the Hebbal police station, said that they had filed a complaint but an FIR would only be filed tomorrow after they spoke to the Afrooz. "After that we'll begin our investigation," he added.
