Known for choosing non-metropolitan locations for hosting a film festival, Jagran Group is preparing for its second film festival which will be inaugurated in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

The Jagran Film Festival (JFF), which was a huge success last year, will have a new section on short and documentary films this year and a RETROSPECTIVE OF ANWAR JAMAL (Short and Documentary Film Maker).
During the festival, there will be discussions on a series of issues revolving the art and craft of cinema.

JFF'2011 has a mentor panel including film personalities like Sudhir Mishra, Om Puri, Anurag Kashyap and Raveena Tandon. Mishra and Om Puri would be present in the inaugural chapter of JFF Season Two in Kanpur.

Other famous personalities who would grace the occasion are filmmaker Seema Kapoor and actor-producer Sanjay Suri and documentary filmmaker Anwar Jamal. Like last year, the festival will travel across various cities in the country where a list of good movies would be screened and panel discussions held.

JFF was conceived in the year 2010 and it witnessed a warm welcome from the film industry and audience across the states where it traveled. The film festival had started in Lucknow and then traveled to Kanpur, Allahabad, Varanasi, Meerut, Agra, Dehradoon, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Ranchi, Jamshedpur and ended in Patna.
The JFF award function which was held at Siri Fort Auditorium in the capital was inaugurated by legendary film personality Sharmila Tagore (the then chairperson of Censor Board of Film Certification).
