Mukherjee to inaugurate celebrations marking 125 years of UP legislature

President Pranab Mukherjee will inaugurate the 125th year celebrations of Uttar Pradesh Legislature here today.

Mukherjee, who will reach Lucknow on Tuesday noon, will address a gathering of Uttar Pradesh legislators in Vidhan Bhawan to mark the occasion.

The President will also release special commemorative postal stamp to mark the occasion.

The state legislature was constituted on January 8, 1887 under the Indian Council Act of 1861.
