ABDUL Latif (35) was arrested with 3 kg of Hashish at the Bangalore International Airport early today morning.

Customs and Immigration officers at the airport caught the Mumbai-based man when he was about to board a Thai Airways Bangkok-bound flight.

Abdul was reportedly carrying the contraband drug along with his clothes and Quoran in a trunk.

Indians such as Abdulu00a0 often sell consignments of hashish to foreigners in Bangkok.

Hashish, a preparation of cannabis, said to have originated from the Middle East,u00a0 is grown in parts of North India apart from Pakistan, Nepal, Afghanistan, Morocco and Lebanon. The hash produced by rubbing live marijuana flowers with the hands is commonly called charas. Dealers often mix other chemicals with hashish to increase its weight and make profit.
