The National Film Archive of India (NFAI) finally gave permission to showcase films of all the personalities who have won the Dadasaheb Phalke Award at a specially organised film festival starting Monday. The festival has been organised to commemorate 100 years of Indian cinema.
“There were some positive developments on Wednesday evening and we received a letter from the other organising institutions. Now there will not be any hurdle for screening these films at the festival,” NFAI director Pradeep Pathrabe said.

The festival is a joint venture between Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Aashay Film Club, Film Division and NFAI. Films will be screened at the NFAI Auditorium every second and fourth Monday of the month till October 22.
Inauguration to be done by veteran film director Sai Paranjape, the festival will show films on works of veteran like Devika Rani, Ashok Kumar, Satyajit Ray, Soumitra Chatterjee, B R Chopra, Yash Chopra, Hrishikesh Mukherjee, Tapan Sinha, Prithviraj Kapoor, Sohrab Modi, Dilip Kumar and Nitin Bose. u00a0
