A Congress worker, husband of the Nalgonda municipal chairperson, was found dead in a drainage, with police suspecting that he was hit with a stone.
Boddupalli Srinivas, the husband of municipal chairperson Lakshmi, left home late last night after receiving a phone call from one of his followers, police saidon Thursday.
According to the preliminary information, Srinivas tried to intervene in a clash involving his followers during which someone hit him with a stone, police said.
The body was later found in a drainage, police said, adding that further probe was on. Condemning the incident, Telangana Congress president N Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that it was a case of political murder.
