It appears that the latest controversy courted by former revenue minister, Suresh Dhas from Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), is going to dent the party’s image further.

A day after mid-day published a report in which Dhas claimed innocence over his suspected involvement in a corruption case for signing a file pertaining to a disputed property in Pune, it has been learnt that BJP’s youth wing secretary from Ashti, in Beed, submitted photos of Dhas and one of the accused in the case, Vaibhav Andhale, together to the ACB.

The ACB has taken the photos in its custody and its officials are now inquiring about the date Dhas signed the file, and if he had anything to do with the bribe. In addition, Ram Khade, the BJP leader also handed over a letter to newly sworn-in Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, demanding action against Dhas if found guilty.

“I have written to the CM, requesting him to conduct a high-level inquiry into the matter, and take appropriate action against the culprits. I have submitted pictures of Andhale, posing for cameras with the ex-minister. Their association will come to the fore once the ACB scrutinises their call records. It will become clear that Andhale made numerous calls to him and the revenue department officials, as he used to handle matters on the ex-minister’s behalf,” Khade told mid-day.
