The upshots of the firethat engulfed Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) station last month were felt at the council meetings of the palike.

Acting on the directions of the state government, the BMTF has transferred all the documents related to the financial irregularities scam to the CID.

However, the BMTF officials have expressed their displeasure with the palike's decision of not instigating a probe into the 'accident'. They are also angry with the palike for getting the case transferred mid way.

No mercy!
Meanwhile, the CID has made a strong statement claiming that no accused would be spared.

"If names of elected representatives crop up during the investigation, they too will be summoned. Nobody will be spared," said Shankar Bidari, DG and IG, Karnataka.

Reacting on Bidari's statement, Gandhinagar MLA Dinesh Gundu Rao said, "I'll cooperate with the investigating agency.

But I also want to clarify that the BBMP officials had not informed me about any work on the projects all these years." However, the BBMP Engineer-in-Chief BT Ramesh has rubbished Gundu Rao claims.

"I have all the related documents pertaining to the projects that were cleared by the local elected representatives," said Ramesh.

Fund and fire
Post the scam, three constituencies (including Gandhinagar ward) were found to be beneficiaries of financial misappropriation of the development funds worth Rs 3,200 crore.
