Attend a workshop that will teach you how to make a professional cup of coffee

You start your day with a cuppa and the endless sips keep you going all day long. But did you know that there are different ways to make coffee, and you don't have to settle for one method. Cafe Coffee Day has come up with a concept to teach its customers different methods to make coffee. Titled "Coffee Festival", the workshop will be held at various outlets across the country for the next couple of months. What's On spoke to Felix Daniel Mathew, Manager (Food and Beverages) to know more about this interesting concept.

What is the idea behind the festival?
People usually come to our cafe to enjoy a cup of coffee and wish they could make a similar type of coffee. But usually when they try to make Espresso coffee at home, they are not able to recreate the taste. So, we decided to share the secret and educate the customer about coffee-making, so they could also enjoy a similar taste at home.u00a0u00a0u00a0

What will the workshop involve?
Five to ten-minute long workshops will take place throughout the day, where the brew master will demonstrate how to make light and strong coffee. Coffee maker machines will be sold at our outlets along with coffee powder and we will also give away certificates.

By teaching customers the art of coffee making, won't you lose out on customers?
No. Drinking coffee at a cafe has become a social event. People meet up, chat and enjoy their coffee. This method of making coffee will help them in their day-to-day life as well.

Tell us about the growing popularity of coffee in India.
It is a fact that coffee is still not preferred by a large part of India. We are still tea drinkers because of its availability. The popularity of coffee is in areas like South India, as coffee grows there. But the market has definitely grown in the last few years.
