PM meets President Pranab Mukherjee

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh met newly-appointed President Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan Thursday.

This was the first meeting between the two since Mukherjee assumed president's office Wednesday.

"It was a courtesy call...there was nothing on agenda," an official in the Prime Minister's Office said.

The prime minister drove down to Rashtrapati Bhavan.

"The meeting lasted half an hour," the official added.u00a0
