Prime Minister Manmohan Singh mourned the passing away of veteran actor Rajesh Khanna, who died at his home today.

A tweet from the PM's Twitter handle, @PMOIndia, read - "The Prime Minister condoles the passing away of cinema personality, entertainer and former Member of Parliament, Shri Rajesh Khanna."
Following this there was another post - "I convey my heartfelt condolences to the members of the bereaved family and countless fans and admirers of Shri Rajesh Khanna."
Khanna, who recently has been in and out of hospital on many occasions, passed away at his home Ashirwad today.
Khanna is hailed as India's first superstar after 15 consecutive solo superhits between 1969 and 1972, including 'Aradhana', 'Haathi Mere Saathi', 'Anand' and 'Amar Prem'.
He had recently appeared in his first TV ad for a fan.
