PMC woman employee dies

Leena Rajendra Salar, a 40-year-old woman working as a sweeper at Pune Municipal Corporation's Naidu Hospital died late night yesterday. She sustained serious burn injuries on February 5.u00a0

The Bund Garden police, who are investigating the case, said that there was no foul play. Leena sustained burns while burning tobacco to produce mishree, which is used as a dental cleaner.

"Her husband Rajendra, also a PMC employee working at the Naidu Hospital, is a physically challenged person," the police said.u00a0

u00a0Leena was admitted at Jahangir Hospital and later at Surya Hospital in the city for the treatment of her burn injures. She died at Sassoon hospital at 9.45 pm and her post mortem was conducted late at night. Leena did not blame anybody, the police said. Bund Garden police have registered an incident of accidental death.u00a0

Another burns death
Sustaining burn injuries while cooking at home, Saraswati Laxman Hegde, a 32-year old homemaker and resident of Daund Village sustained 100 per cent burns.

The woman died at Sassoon hospital at 10.30 pm yesterday. The Daund police are probing into the case and
completed the post mortem formalities.
