Taking a note of the repeated demands made by the locals of Pashan-Sus Road for installing a bus shelter that was charred in a mishap last year, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena's (MNS) Suhas Nimhan offered to rebuild a new one by paying for the work from his own pocket
The PMPML, however, claimed that no bus stop would be allowed under the banner of any political party. Officials said there was been a delay from the PMPML’s end in rebuilding the bus stop as they have to follow a procedure to avail funds for building or installing new bus stops.u00a0

Nimhan said, “More than 500 commuters, including students and senior citizens from the area used to board buses from this bus stop. But in the absence of a bus shelter, commuters stand and wait for their respective buses.”
Bhargavi Nimhan, a student, said, “We have no option, but to wait for buses with our heavy bags. Why are they wasting so much time on taking a decision of rebuilding the bus stop?”
Laxman Bhokre, chief of advertisement department and in-charge of construction, PMPML, said, “Funds will be allocated once we have surveyed at the bus stops. There is a procedure that we have to follow and it takes time. We cannot allow building of bus stops under any political banner. They are built on BOT (Built, Operate and Transfer) basis. The PMPML has finalised 1,019 spots where bus stops will be constructed so far and the tendering process is in its final stage. The bus stop on Pashan-Sus Road will be rebuilt soon.” u00a0
