Try wines from Italy with food rustled up by chef Igor Macchia
It isn't everyday that a chef who owns a Michelin-starred restaurant comes calling to the Capital. Chef Igor Macchia, the co-owner of La Credenza in Italy's Torino, a Michelin-starred restaurant, is here in town to cook up a storm and also to teach Delhiites what wine they should pair with their food when they are sampling Italian cuisine.
Chef Igor Macchia
The chef is pairing the food with a bunch of red and white wines from Frescobaldi that will be introduced. These include Marchesi de' Frescobaldi Pomino Bianco DOC Castello di Pomino, Marchesi de' Frescobaldi Chianti Rufina Reserve DOCG Castello di Nipozzano, Marchesi de' Frescobaldi Brunello De Montalcino DOCG Castel Giocondo and Marchesi de' Frescobaldi 'Lucente' Luce Della Vite.
So the white wines will be matched with Calamari alla griglia, gamberi fritti, salsa di patate allo zenzero (Grilled squid, fried prawns, ginger and potato sauce), the reds with Ravioli di zucca con schiuma agli amaretti e pesto vegetarian and Agnello marinato al caffe' con ragu' di mais dolce e germogli (Coffee bean marinated lamb loin, sweet corn ragout, aromatic cress).
The chef likes to innovate so he has prepared dishes like Mousse al cioccolato, creme brul e all'arancia e spaghetti fritti (Chocolate mousse, orange creme brul e, fried spaghetti) and Gelato al wasabi con asparagi freschi (Wasabi ice cream, green asparagus salad) etc. So go check this out.
