Cops say distinguished people from the area, including those residing in the newly built judges' colony have complained about loud music at night

Party lovers in Saket may have to hit their beds early on December 31. Delhi police has decided to strongly implement the High Court ruling that says loud music can,t be played after 10pm.

And the order is likely to affect Saket resident the most as in recent days local cops have received several complaints from high-profile people in the area, including from those living in the judges, colony, about blaring music playing late in the night.u00a0

Several clubs in Saket are close to the colony and they are likely to bear the brunt. A senior police officer from Saket said: "Last week only we held a meeting with owners of various clubs and briefed them about the rules and regulations. They were specifically told that if they flout any rules from now on then strict action would be taken against them."

"We have already taken action in two similar cases. We fined them and confiscated the DJ,s equipments. We are planning to take more action if more complaints come our way. The beat staff has also been changed so that no corruption can take place.

A special team has also been formed to make sure quick action is taken." But most of the club owners have expressed their helplessness in this matter. They claim that peak time of their business is between 10 and 11 pm and the deadline is affecting their business big time.

Sohrab Sitaram owner of Tabula Rasa said: "There has been a sudden spurt of complaints in the past one week which has resulted in frequent raids by the police." He added that the situation changed after the Saket court complex was built. He also pointed out that the law wasn,t being strongly enforced in other areas.
