Crime Branch officials and members of EIPR, a private detective agency, seized 73,309 counterfeit N95 masks worth Rs 70,000 and arrested four people involved in the racket yesterday. Officials raided a godown, Mehata life & Science, Pentagon off Satara road and some shops in Sadashiv Peth.
The arrested people include Amol Murgud (19),u00a0 Rajesh Narayankar (24), Sheetal Prakash Bhandari (35) and Prakash Kantilal Mehta. Police said the four specialised at selling counterfeit masks for anything between Rs 250 to Rs 300). N95 masks are manufactured by US based 3M company and cost Rs 90.
