A pornographic video was accidentally shown on television sets installed to broadcast advertisements at Kalpetta town in Kerala's Wayanad district on early Tuesday morning.

Commuters were in for a rude shock after being subjected to the objectionable content.

The hill town Kalpetta is known for its beautiful tea and coffee plantations and Jain temples.

The cable operator identified as Manzoor was nabbed and was apparently the culprit behind the fiasco, according to police sources. Cops say he claims to have played the clip by mistake as he loaded the wrong video clip along with the ads.

Police have booked him under section 292 of the Indian Penal Code (obscene and indecent advertisement and display), the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, and various sections of the Information Technology Act.
