In July, Sangama, an NGO working for the welfare of transgender community, had caught and handed over four men to the police, who posed as eunuchs to rob people. Still, such instances are on the rise.

Harassment
In the third attempt in two months, two youth and two women were harassed by eunuchs. In two cases they succeeded to escape, but in one case passersby caught and handed them over to the police.
Eunuchs usually make up to Rs 300, begging from shops and signals. They even visit residential areas where they get food and clothes.
Akkai, Information Divisional Coordinator of 'Sangama' Association, told MiD DAY, "We know that many persons are posing as fake eunuchs. They are maligning our community.
Our association never allows anyone to beg. We want to improve eunuchs's lifestyle, and are working towards getting them a good status in the society.
Now we are very serious about fake eunuchs and appeal to the police to take strict action to stop this trend."
