"We discussed a number of issues with the CM, including delays in clearances and approvals, which was affecting creation of affordable housing stock. We also discussed about bringing in transparency in the sector," said Vimal Shah, president of MCHI-Credai, builders' association.
"We told him that creation of affordable housing stock is affected because of the delays, which is resulting in escalation of cost. This in-turn results in property prices going up by almost 15-20 per cent.
"We told him there is a need for increasing supply to check rising property prices," Shah said.
"We also discussed new rental housing scheme, affordable housing policy as well as the township policy. Chavan assured us of taking all positive measures to ensure creating more housing stock."u00a0
