Aviation and police authorities on Saturday began a probe into the helicopter crash that killed Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and four others on Wednesday. A team of the Andhra Pradesh police Crime Investigation Department (CID) gathered mangled pieces of the helicopter that crashed into a hill in Kurnool district and brought them to the district collector's office in Kurnool town. Kurnool district collector Mukesh Kumar Meena said the pieces and instruments would be handed over to a special investigation team of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
