In its bid to simplify the process of securing caste, income and other important certificates, the District Collectorate has decided to accept only self-declaration letter rather than asking for a separate affidavit.
The state had recently issued a Government Resolution (GR), asking all the SETU, E-District and Maha-E-Seva centres to mention ‘self-declaration’ letter in the list of documents needed to acquire various certificates. Earlier, applicants had to provide an affidavit in the presence of an efficient government official.u00a0

“So far, the people had to attach a separate affidavit along with the application for acquiring necessary certificates. But the self-declaration letter would be a part of the application for which no stamp paper is needed, unlike the affidavit,” District Collector Vikas Deshmukh said. The order has already come into effect since Augt 15.u00a0
