Investigating officers seize Dayanand Patil's passport from his residence, question wife Satyakala for hours
Investigations into the four low intensity blasts on the busy Jangali Maharaj Road on Wednesday evening revealed that Dayanand Patil had been to Jordan a few years ago.

Investigating officers seized Patil’s passport from his residence, and his wife Satyakala was questioned till late evening by officials from various security agencies, including DeccanGymkhana police station, Crime Branch, Anti-Terrorist Cell (ATS) and National Investigation Agency (NIA).
The police officials also detained six persons for questioning, on suspicion that they were Patil’s confidants. A case has been registered at the Deccan Gymkhana police station against unknown persons under Sections 307 (murder attempt), 427 (mischief causing damage), 120 B (Criminal Conspiracy), 3, 4 and 5 of the Explosives Act and 16 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
Assistant Commissioner of Police (crime) Vinod Satav of the Crime Branch will be investigating the case. Satav, at present, is also investigating the German Bakery blast case.
Parallel probe
Joint Commissioner of Police Sanjeev Kumar Singhal said while addressing the media that though the investigation of u00a0the blasts have been transferred to the Crime Branch, the ATS and the NIA had started a parallel investigation into the case. u00a0“The investigation is being done from various angles. Cycle owner held
Yesterday morning, officials from the Crime Branch identified the shop from where the cycles, which were used in the blasts, were purchased. Sony Cycle Trading Company is located at Kasba Peth near Shaniwarwada. u00a0The officials detained the shopkeeper and one of his aides for questioning. “During the investigation, we came to know that the cycles were purchased from the shop on Wednesday afternoon,” a source in the Crime Branch said.
