A junior artist who worked in Marathi award-winning film 'Fandry' has been arrested by the Pune city police along with six others for his alleged involvement in various crimes including breaking into houses and a jewelery showroom.

The Pune city police's Crime Branch unit has arrested a gang of seven youth including two juveniles and recovered gold, silver and electronic gadgets worth of Rs 19 lakh from them.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Amol Avchare (19), Yogesh Chaudhari (19) -- both of whom are residents of Kasarwadi while the three others -- Pratik Waghmare (20), Bipin Kulkarni (39) and Sagar Sahane – are residents of Pimpri. Pratik, Bipin and Sagar allegedly were involved in helping the others sell the stolen ornaments.
Inspector Laxman Borate, of Unit Four, said, "We arrested Yogesh and his gang. Yogesh had initially auditioned for 'Fandry' and later played a role as a classmate in the movie and also worked as lead role in the short documentary movie 'Pratidayna' . He have also worked five to six other movies."
He added, "Chaudhari along with Avchare and two others are in involved in house breaking while the three others helped them to sell the stolen ornaments and worked as mediators to sell such goods and got a huge commission from it. We had been coming across some incidents of breaking in at a Bhavani Peth jeweler shop and Pimpri and breaking into houses in a bunglow. We have recovered 62 grams of gold ornaments, half kilogram of silver, digital camera and two wrist watches worth of Rs 19 lakh."
