Agitated over the delay in getting information under the Right to Information Act, a former government employee hurled abuses at the Superintendent of Motor Transport (MT) Department and created a ruckus at its Aundh office on Tuesday.
The troublemaker was identified as A J Inamdar, a former inspector himself at the MT department. Superintendent (MT) Atul Patil has lodged a complaint against Inamdar at the Chatuhshrungi police station.
Police Inspector Bhimrao Tele who is investigating the case said, "Inamdar has been booked under section 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code as he allegedly threatened the officers present in the Motor Transport Department."
According to the complaint filed by Patil, Inamdar went to his office on Tuesday around 2 pm, reportedly to seek information under the RTI Act. However, he started hurling abuses and also threw a file at Patil alleging that the officer was not giving the information on time. Inamdar also allegedly threatened Patil of dire consequences, the complaint said.
Several attempts to contact Superintendent Patil were made by this reporter, but Patil did not respond to the calls nor replied to the text messages sent to his mobile.
