Shrikant, brother of Shiv Sena supremo Bal Thackeray, died six years ago. An official from the Collector's office confirmed that the name of Raj's late father, noted Marathi composer, was still in the list and mentioned his age as 79.
He was 75 when he died. When the lapse was pointed out to him, Raj said he was surprised to know that his father's name was still on the list.
"The name should be removed to ensure there is no bogus voting in my father's name," he added. Raj cast his vote at a polling booth at Balmohan Vidyamandir in central Mumbai's Dadar area in morning with wife Sharmila.
He went to the Siddhivinayak temple before going for polling.
