The senior BJP leader was seen pushing away his bodyguard at a protest event in Ghaziabad

Rajnath Singh and other BJP leaders have been protesting for farmers of Bhatta-Parsaul for th last three days in Ghaziabad. But on Sunday, the heat and the big crowd there seemed to prove too much for the former UP chief minister.

Push comes to shove: TV grabs showing Rajnath Singh pushing
his bodyguard.

While Rajnath was stepping down from the podium he got accidentally pushed and shoved by the crowd. The senior BJP leader suddenly turned around and vented his ire on one of his own Black Cat commandos by trying to hit him and finally pushing him away. Rajnath was not available for comments after the incident. The incident drew criticism from the Congress. UP State Congress president Rita Bahuguna Joshi demanded an apology from the BJP leader.

"This is a very shameful act by a leader of his experience. Commandos are deployed for the security of VIPs. The bodyguard was in uniform and was on his duty. Rajnath Singh must apologise to the commando," Joshi told MiD DAY.

'Non-issue'
"Rajnath Singh's protest in Ghaziabad in support of farmers of Noida has been a successful event. Congress is trying to politicise this particular incident if at all it has happened. Congress is under attack on corruption issue that is why they are trying to politicise everything. If Rahul Gandhi would have taken up the land acquisition bill issue with the government, the Noida incident would not have happened. Instead he tried to score political points by visiting Noida farmers." said Hridaya Narayan, spokesperson, BJP UP.u00a0
