Now that all the pubs and restaurants shut shops by 11.30 pm, there is nothing much one can do in Bangalore. So as an alternative, youngsters in Bangalore have taken to hosting house parties instead of venturing out and getting into trouble.

House parties in Bangalore generally go on till the wee hours of the morning and generally the revelers violate rules. These parties can get very noisy but many of them keep silence to avoid getting into troubles.

Mid-Day asked people whether they would complain or raise their voice if there is a house party going on in their neighborhood in violation of rules.

"I stay in Lavelle Road and there is at least one house party taking place every week. It can be very annoying sometimes, I can't even meditate in peace, though I haven't complained so far, I've raised my voice against them many times," says Ashleyy, a clairvoyant.

"It's high time someone raised their voice against it. I stay in an apartment in Indiranagar and it is filled with college-going students, and they party very often. Though some of them are underage, they use alcohol. Loud music and dancing are also involved. I haven't complained so far but now it's really getting to me. So there might be a day when I may actually raise my voice against them," says Riddhima Verma, a graphic designer.

What the rule says: You need permission from the jurisdictional police before hosting a party. Also the party cannot go beyond the 11.30 pm deadline.
