Review: Raj - The Showman (Kannada)

Not a great show

Cast: Puneeth Rajkumar and Nisha Kotari

Director: Prem

Theatres: Santhosh , Fun Cinemas, Inox, PVR

Rating: 2

The hype apart, director Prem hasn't done justice to the script of Raj u2013 The Showman. He has concentrated on the story rather than the film-making, resulting in a film that lacks creativity.

What's it about: Muttu (Puneeth), a village lad, dreams of becoming a filmstar. Working as a junior artist with small projects, he finally gets the chance to be a hero in a filmthe Poli script. However, heroine Paaru (Nisha Kotari) refuses to say I LOVE YOU during shooting and that's when the trouble starts. Muttu then tries to convince Paaru to convey the said dialogue. And while doing so, there's a lot of running around trees, across deserts and invoking the birds and the bees. In between, there are fights and sentimental sequences.

What's Hot: Puneeth's acting is not bad and Krishna's cinematography is good. But only two songs are catchy.

What's Not: Nisha Kotari has not done justice to her role. The dialogues and stunts lack freshness.

Verdict: Not worth watching buying tickets in black.
