it's the fresh, flavoursome biryani that makes this Saket kitchen stand out
Since the time biryani was born in the country,u00a0 it was twisted and turned to suit local and regional tastes, and has been well received, also, because of its complete meal-in-a-bowl factor. THE GUIDE visited First Floor Kitchen Restaurant & Bar to check on biryani in its newest interpretations, and walked out ringing the happy bell.
Meating ground
Since one serving is enough for two people, we decided to order very small portions of most of the variants. From the hot and spicy non vegetarian range came chooza biryani, that has delectable, supple meat chunks that melt in the mouth effortlessly. The same goes for their other rolloutsu00a0-- gosht dum, kacchi gosht and gosht sausages. You can also dig into chicken sausage, fish, shrimps and egg variants.
Green gourmet
Most herbivores dread a biryani bistro, for the simple reason that the primary focus is on meat. But here, you're assured of garden fresh vegetables, pudina, soya, corn, subz ki tahiri, Kashmiri and motia biryani that're bound to please the most devout green eaters .
Also on the cards
If rice puts you off no matter what the form, the eatery has other North Indian numbers lined up, too. The murg tariwala, a recipe picked up from highway hotels, is a hot seller here. And it has a distinct, refreshing Punjabi flavour to it. Then, there're the usual kebabs, shorbas, curries, tandoori snacks, main course preparations and yes, imported and Indian made liquour. Pretty much a package.
