A 79-year-old man who was suffering from tuberculosis, jumped off the second floor of his house in GK
A 79-year-old man died after he allegedly jumped off the second floor of his residence in Greater Kailash of southwest Delhi Wednesday, police said.
According to the police, Vasant Lal was living in the N-Block of Greater Kailash-I for 60 years.
Vasant Lal had no immediate family and he remained a bachelor all his life, police officials said. He was living with the family of Sunil Kapoor, who treated him like his father.
Vasant Lal was suffering from tuberculosis, had an eye infection and was not keeping well due to the old age. The Kapoor family told the police that he was very depressed about his health.
On Tuesday night, he allegedly jumped off the second floor and fell on the pavement, sustaining severe head injuries, the police said.
He was rushed to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) but was pronounced dead.
The police have not recovered any suicide note.
