Delhi-based designers Tanvi Gupta (21) and Pratiti Bansal (23) got the idea to start their own accessories label while working on their college project, a year ago. "Both of us were busy getting a few bags stitched for our college project. That was when we felt that if we were able to run around for college projects, why not start a business of our own?" recalls Tanvi.

That's how the duo, who have studied Accessory Design from the National Institute of Fashion Technology in Delhi, started Purple Sack.
They later branched out into making belts, pendants, keychains, brooches, hair bands and charm necklaces.
The girls use leather, leatherette, PVC, fabric, acrylic, and felt, among other fabrics to make their products.
Their range of funky chains with love and peace symbols coupled with high heels, wine glasses and even marijuana leaf pendants make quite a fashion statement.
Purple Sack had their day in the sun at the Lakme Fashion Week 2010 (Mumbai) where they made bags, belts and shoes for designers Megha and Pragya Samor.
At the Wills India Fashion Week (New Delhi), they designed bandanas, anklets, neckpieces and rings for designers Ashish Viral and Vikrant Parikh.
Their motto is simpleu00a0-- never say NO to anything. No wonder then that Purple Sack will gladly customise orders and even courier these offbeat neckpieces to all corners of India.u00a0- AB
