Architect accused of killing lover produced in court for remand extension; wife, son wait outside court
Architect Santosh Bhukan, arrested for the murder of his lover Vaishali Kadam, looked calm and composed when he was produced in court yesterday afternoon. Bhukan's police custody was extended till September 4.
In the courtroom, Bhukan looked the people present in he eye as his wife and six-year-old son waited outside.
Repeated attempts by Bhukan's wife to persuade their son to meet him failed. The boy, who looked upset, simply refused each time his mother made the entreaty.
JMFC M Y Doifode upheld public prosecutor Suchitra Narote's arguments in favour of extending the police custody to recover Kadam's clothes, which were allegedly thrown by Bhukan in a rivulet, and to trace the person who Bhukan said he hired to send misleading SMSes to Kadam's family after he had killed her.
