This pocket-sized card will be able to supply doctors with all your health details

Here's a pocket-sized smart card that stores all your health information. In an emergency, all that needs to be done is swipe the card at the hospital or ambulance and the information is printed for the doctors.

Yos Technologies, a Bangalore-based company,u00a0 launched a Health and Emergency Care Smart Card yesterday.

During an emergency, one has to insert the card into the Emergency Card Terminal in the hospital or ambulance and all the information will be printed.

Apart from this, the patient's entire medical history is faxed to the hospital and an SMS sent to the emergency contact numbers.

"When a patient is admitted to a hospital as a result of some accident or a medical emergency, incomplete, inaccurate and untimely information could risk a patient's life.u00a0

A patient in pain or under shock will not be able to furnish this information, and family members may not be present or have all the information handy. This is where YosCare's Emergency Care card comes in, said Vijaya Verma, founder and CEO of Yos Technologies.

Twenty Bangalore hospitals are part of the YosCare Emergency Care network and 20 more will be connected in the next two months.

This facility will also be made available in ambulances run by the CTC Sanjeevini 1062.

The cards cost Rs 100 and if you want one with a picture, it is Rs 125.
