Snag prevents ISRO chief from voting
India's top scientist Dr G Madhavan Nair reached his polling booth (No 171) at New Horizon School at HAL II Stage a little after 7 am today, but couldn't vote as the electronic voting machine suddenly gave up the ghost. According to an eyewitness, the ISRO chief waited for a considerable amount of time for the machine to be set right. But when it showed no signs of coming back to life, he left.
"The EVM went kaput after just three people voted. The officials tried to bring it back to life but failed. Almost 25 peopleu00e2u0080u0094including Dr Madhavan Nairu00e2u0080u0094who were in the queue, returned disappointed. The EVM was set right after one and a half hours," an eyewitness told MiD DAY.
