Delhi Police, in association with a non-governmental organisation (NGO) will be conducting street plays in various colleges of south campus of Delhi University (DU). These plays will be based on problems related to youth. Ragging, eve-teasing and drug abuse are the areas that will be in focus.

DCP of south district, Chhaya Sharma said that they are conducting these street plays to inspire the youth. "We have spoken to the principal of each college of south campus in this respect. We are planning to start our street plays in colleges from Monday.

On coming Wednesday we are planning to hold a street play at Gargi College," said the DCP. She also added that these plays will be staged in 11 colleges across the south campus of Delhi University and will be of half-an-hour duration each.

"We will conduct three plays in each college, with eight performances to pass our message to the youth. NGO workers will act in the plays and senior police official will address the youth," said Sharma. Police said that apart from staging the street plays they have tightened the security in each college to stop ragging incidents.u00a0
