Television actress Sara Khan and four of her friends had a narrow escape early on Saturday when the car they were travelling in overturned in Oshiwara. Luckily, none of the four occupants of the car were seriously injured. Khan, who suffered bruises, was treated at a private hospital and released during the day.

The car overturned in Oshiwara, when the driver lost control and hit the road-divider.

According to the police, the incident took place around 3 am near the Mega Mall in Oshiwara. Khan (24) was apparently returning home after attending a birthday party in honour of her friend Pratyusha Banerjee. Another occupant of the car has been identified as actor Siddharth Shukla. The car, being driven by another friend, was allegedly speeding when the driver lost control and hit the road-divider before turning turtle. Cops had to call in a crane to lift the wrecked car.

“We are investigating the matter. It looks like a case of rash and negligent driving. We are also checking if the driver was under the influence of alcohol,” said an officer of Oshiwara police station. Khan shot to fame when she appeared in the reality show, Bigg Boss in 2010. She later married actor Ali Merchant but subsequently the two separated.u00a0
