Noida woke up to a gruesome sight on Monday morning.u00a0 In a scene that seemed eerily similar to news flashes from Taliban-ruled Afghanistan, two bodies were found hanging at Sector 14, Noida on Monday morning. While the man's body hung from an electric pole, the woman was hanging by a red sari from a tree. The two, a married couple, had reportedly killed themselves after a minor scuffle over a cell phone.

Rajiv Mishra, circle officer, Noida, said: "during interrogation, it was revealed that on Sunday night, the deceased Pappu Katiyar was with his friend Ranjit and brother-in-law Vijay, who was in an inebriated condition.
"The house was ransacked when we reached and it is still uncertain who left the scene first," added Mishra.u00a0
The police were initially clueless about the cause of death. However, the post mortem report said the two had died because of hanging. Also, the bodies didn't bear any external injury marks and the report said the time of death was between 10 pm and 2 am.
The couple, married in 2002, had been living in the New Ashok Nagar area in east Delhi near the Noida border.
They had two children who live with their maternal grandfather at Khan Market in Delhi.
While, Pappu was from Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, and was working as a driver in an export firm, his wife Chatto was from Kolkata. The couple had a strained relationship and had applied for divorce, said the police.
