Additionally, June 30 too, has been declared as a dry day in the state owing to it being Ashadi Ekadashi. Fearing heavy losses, the representatives of the Indian hotel and restaurant association have approached officials to withdraw the plan for the three dry days. “We have appealed to the excise officials to cancel one of the dry days.u00a0

The officials told us that it was the state election commissioner’s decision. They have agreed to let us start business by 4 pm on Monday and Wednesday. We can start just after counting is done,” said a member of AHAR.

He added that they were going to approach the election commissioner asking him to cancel the dry day for the elections as it was the first time that dry days had been announced for the teachers constituency election.u00a0
